Market Rumors:

Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ): Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) said it has has no plans to make an offer for Verizon, despite rumors to the contrary this morning.

Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX): Pali Research upgraded Time Warner to Buy saying management must act over the next 12-months to radically reshape the company. What the firm wants management to do: Buy back at least $14 billion of stock, Split-off Time Warner Cable, split-off/sell AOL; sell publishing.

Flamel Technologies (NASDAQ: FLML): Known activist investor Daniel Loeb, through his Third Point LLC hedge fund, disclosed a 9.2% passive stake in the company. Flamel is already under activist pressure from Redwood Asset Management, which is calling for a sale.

Alcoa Inc. ((NYSE: AA): More rumors BHP Billiton Ltd. (NYSE: BHP) could make a bid for the company.

Boyd Gaming Corp. (NYSE: BYD): Resurfaced takeover speculation.

optionsXpress Holdings Inc. (OXPS): Resurfaced takeover speculation

Rediff.com India Ltd. (NASDAQ: REDF): Rumors the company could be a buyout target of a US-based Internet company. The stock is down on a weekend Barron's article that highlighted the extremely high valuation of the stock.

Think Partnership (AMEX: THK): Canaccord Adams said, "We have picked up data points from Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) that the company has gone live with a click-quality scoring system in its MSN adCenter product that we maintain is based on Think Partnership’s ValidClick technology."

Past Rumors That Came True Today:

Applebee's International (NASDAQ: APPB): IHOP Corp. (NYSE: IHP) will acquire Applebee's for $25.50 per share.
