1. What is the difference between delayed and real-time data?
The real-time version of MarketSmart features all market data as it occurs. This type of service is ideal for committed investors looking for up-to-the-minute market data. Simply bookmark our home page and log onto MarketSmart using your user name and password.
2. What kind of browser do I need?
Any browser that supports tables can be used for MarketSmart. Although most browsers do support tables these days, our site has been optimized for Microsoft Explorer and Netscape Navigator. To obtain a free copy of either browser, simply click on one of the links below:
3. How much does it cost and how do I pay for it?
MarketSmart Real-Time carries a $9.95 per month subscription fee plus exchange fees. Exchange fees are charged by the exchanges in order to access real-time data. All exchange fees are collected by PCQuote and passed directly onto the exchanges. Optional subscription features are also available for additional fees.
Payment for optional fees and services is made with your credit card and billed directly by PCQuote. Your credit card number will be encrypted with the Secure Socket Layer and transmitted over the internet.
4. What are real-time exchange fees?
Exchange fees are monthly fees charged by all financial exchanges for the right to view real-time data. PCQuote doesn’t keep any of these fees — we pass all of them along to the exchanges. Following is a table of all non-professional fees. Professional investors are charged higher fees by the exchanges. For more information on professional fees, call our Customer Care group at 1-888-727-8683. For a listing of all exchange fees, click here.
5. What is the purpose of the statistical questions on the application forms?
MarketSmart Real-time is supported by advertising revenue. The information you provide on the questionnaire helps our advertisers gain an understanding of our audience demographics. This helps them determine what kinds of products and services to advertise on our web site. At no time is individual information released to our advertisers.
6. What is the difference between professional and non-professional investors?

A non-professional is someone who subscribes in his or her individual and personal capacity, and neither as a principal, officer, partner, employee, or agent of any business nor on behalf of any other individual, and who is neither:
